Standby Attitude Indicators

AI-330 Gyro 3” and AI-804 Gyro 2” provide vital backup for emergencies

L3 Gyros were designed to provide pilots with the critical information they need to safely maneuver an aircraft when the power goes out in flight. With L3 Gyros, horizontal attitude and other vital information are accessible in seconds. L3 systems provide backup for a variety of aerial systems, including helicopters, unmanned aerial systems, remotely piloted vehicles, fixed-wing aircraft and military and air transport platforms.

Key Gyro System Benefits:

  • Rugged design to ensure performance in challenging environments
  • Night-vision goggle (NVG)-compatible
  • Bottom role scale options

AI-330 Self-Contained 2” Attitude Instrument

The A330 is a compact, self-contained attitude instrument that fits in a standard 3-ATI-instrument cutout. The AI-330 features an optional integral inclinometer (slip/skid indicator) and mechanical erection with manual caging. Direct mechanical linkage eliminates electrical servo response lag. Self-contained lateral and fore/aft acceleration compensation is standard on the AI-330.

OTHER AI-330 FEATURES:

  • 28 VDC operation (18 VDC to 30 VDC)
  • ARINC 408A 3ATI clamp mount (flange-mount available)
  • Blue/white internal lighting
  • Design compatibility with EFIS displays
  • Power off warning flag
  • Wheel speed monitoring
  • TSO-C4c

AI-804 Self-Contained 2” Standby Gyro Horizon

The AI-804 is a compact, case-contained 2″ gyro horizon indicator that provides up to nine minutes of usable attitude information after complete loss of electrical power. The AI-804 is used on fixed- and rotary-wing aircraft in both military and commercial applications to ensure unprecedented reliability and durability at a low cost. The stand-alone design of the AI-804, developed by L3 using advanced engineering techniques, eliminates the need for electronic components associated with remote systems. The direct mechanical linkage provides exceptional reliability.

OTHER AI-804 FEATURES:

  • 28 VDC operation
  • 360° roll, 360° pitch with controlled precession
  • Red or white internal lighting
  • Manual caging for fast, reliable alignment
  • Power-off warning flag
  • TSO-C4c
