EHSI-3000 Electronic Horizontal Situation Indicator
Solid-state unit replaces aging electro-mechanical HSIs
The solid-state design of the L3 EHSI-3000 gives this next-generation electronic horizontal situation indicator the improved reliability, enhanced cockpit presentation and added functionality needed for military operations. The L3 EHSI-3000 was designed to replace aging analog electro-mechanical HSIs in new or converted aircraft equipped with a MIL-STD-1553B databus architecture. It is part of a family of EHSI products that are setting the standard for today’s challenging military and civil operations.

Designed specifically for rugged military environments, the L3 EHSI-3000 requires 28 VDC, weighs less than three pounds, interfaces via dual 1553B multiplex busses and is tested to MIL-STD-810 and MIL-STD-461/462 environmental requirements. This easily retrofitted unit features basic functions for selection among four modes: ILS/TACAN, TACAN, NAV and ILS/NAV. The EHSI- 3000 meets TYPE 1 Class B NVG lighting requirements.
Valuable tool for pilots
The EHSI-3000 is filled with features that make it a valuable tool in the cockpit. In addition to aircraft heading, the EHSI-3000 features a range indicator, RMI bearing pointer and reciprocal pointer, a course deviation indicator, to/from station indication for TACAN and NAV modes, and a heading marker, among other features and capabilities.
