L3 Introduces Next-Generation EFD-750 Electronic Flight Display
ORLANDO, Fla., October 16, 2018 – L3 Commercial Aviation announced today the launch of its new Electronic Flight Display, the EFD-750. This next-generation standby unit is one of the most advanced backup systems designed specifically for turboprop, light-to-medium jet and helicopter platforms.
“We’re delighted to bring the new EFD-750 to market,” said Eric Jenkins, Vice President and General Manager of Commercial Markets at Aviation Products, which is part of L3 Commercial Aviation. “Its advanced feature set, high-quality display capability and competitive pricing make it the perfect standby system for a wide range of aircraft.”
The compact unit is scalable and includes displays for attitude, airspeed, altitude and slip/skid. Hardware configurations are available to support internal air data, as well as external air data from an existing source on the aircraft, and options are also available for heading display and navigation. Information is displayed in optimum quality, as the unit features a 3-inch, 24-bit color high-resolution display.
The EFD-750, which replaces the Trilogy line of systems, is installer-configurable, utilizing an installer-programmed data configuration module that stores all aircraft and interface data. The system is certified to DO-178C and DO-254, Design Assurance Level A. L3 plans to submit the EFD-750 for Technical Standard Orders (TSO) Authorization in November 2018, with first deliveries of the unit anticipated early in 2019.
