With a display area measuring 20 x 8 inches, LAAD is the largest ruggedized Active Matrix Liquid Crystal Display (AMLCD) ever developed for use in a military aircraft. Created as a truly innovative NextGen display solution, the LAAD is ideal as the low-weight, low-cost solution for any new trainer, fighter, transport or helicopter.

Low weight, high capability

By eliminating the need for redundant instruments and displays, L3’s LAAD has already proven the ability to provide considerable weight savings when compared to a prior-generation, multi-display avionics suite. To save even more weight, the LAAD also replaces individual system controllers with a robust, dual-redundant touchscreen cockpit computer display. All totaled it delivers greater capabilities with much less complexity.

High-fidelity graphics

The LAAD presents clear, crisp, high-fidelity graphics and video overlays/windows into separately addressable, left and right side 1280×1024 displays via one, monolithic 2560×1024 AMLCD. The system can also be configured with an optional ARINC 818, video inputs, touchscreen, or MFD bezel.
